Company Info

United Terraform exists to restore degraded land by accelerating natural biological systems that convert waste into mineral-rich soil, delivering safer operations, higher yields, and measurable environmental gains at industrial scale. The company unites agriculture, waste streams, and advanced biology into a single, profitable model to recreate the Garden of Eden... wherever people may need to grow food.

United Terraform was legally organized in March of 2026 as an Iowa limited liability company. The company is headquartered in Iowa rural Iowa, but is decentralized with key people in several states working remotely. The company is privately held and is not seeking capital.

Our Story

After years of development, Matt Merchant perfected a way to accelerate the digestion of green waste into inert soil, without any odor, without any off-gassing of greenhouse gasses, and without any need to constantly turn or wet the material. In 2024, he had a meeting in Iowa with Taylor Moffitt and Michael Buehler. There, he presented a small sample of the first known soil on earth that didn't take many years to make. Matt called his process, "Microsnap." Since then, Microsnap™ tests have been scaled from the lab to the field, with truckloads of materials at industrial test sites in several states from California to Florida. The company business plan was completed in 2025, and it was legally organized in Iowa in March of 2026. United Terraform has the rights to conduct 35 large-scale, long-term facility tests offering significant advantages to the facilities that are selected. The company also has exclusive rights to all research and use of Microsnap™ for off-world projects.

The Need

Composting produces massive amounts of greenhouse gasses: foul-smelling methane is offensive to the nose and is a dangerous fire hazard. The stinky piles have to be sprayed with water and turned for at least a year to produce compost. Even then, the finished product still produces methane gas for years. This process is expensive, time consuming, stinky, and results in about ⅔ of all green waste going up into the atmosphere as methane gas.

The Solution

Microsnap™ can go far beyond composting, taking green waste all the way to become nutrient rich, black soil, teeming with healthy microbes. This superior process takes only 8 weeks. Because it is anaerobic, it also stops the odor and fire hazards of all methane off-gassing. Instead of 66% product shrinkage, there is only a 3% product shrinkage. Because of the faster turn time, facility space can be opened up to process approximately 4x the annual product. The bottom line: 3x more product to sell, 5x faster, with 10x better organic fertilizer, and 97% cleaner. United Terraform can create superior soil for places that need it most.
